One of the most effective tools for recruiting couples to attend Living in Love is to send out a personal letter from the pastor inviting them to participate. The letter may vary depending on the target group e.g. newlyweds, young marrieds, couples married under 15 years,or prospective mentors. Normally, we recommend targeting younger couples simply because they get so little attention in the church, will be most open, and are potentially less involved in other ministries. So, Living in Love provides not only an opportunity to enrich their marriage but an outlet for their sacramental love once they are empowered.
The pastor's letter will certainly be read and therefore provides an opening for a follow up phone call. The phone contact is crucial to close the deal and obtain a registration. Focus the follow up calls on the primary target group and involve as many people as possible in making calls on behalf of the pastor so that no individual has to make more than 10-15 calls.
